WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for people who are maturing Christians; those thinking they may be being called to pioneering new expressions of church, who are able and called to set aside this ‘season’ for a period of investment.
Entry to the Forge Course is not based on academic ability but rather on calling, gifting and potential. We are looking for evidence of relationship with God, and a growing and outward expression of faith which is maturing and bearing fruit. Each person must be able to commit to all the training, mentoring and an agreed level of ministry placement for at least a year. They must be willing to serve, be teachable, self-supporting and self-motivated. We are looking for people who are willing to serve in a local church context and see Forge as a means of achieving this.
We are looking for people for whom this information whets their appetite and who feel the Holy Spirit stirring them to pursue this further.
RESIDENTIAL TRAINING
Where the teaching element and personal development sessions
are covered and if possible visits are made to church plants for case studies.
NON-RESIDENTIAL TRAINING
Training which will probably happen within the placement church
where each participant is able to receive individual mentoring from a Church Planter
either in a current church plant or with experience of planting. Here they will have the
opportunity to reflect on their placement, look at how their perspective on the future is developing and ask the questions which will arise.
PERSONAL STUDY
It is expected that each participant will put in a minimum of 3 hours
per week of personal study and reflection gathering work and information for their
Portfolio.
PORTFOLIO
Each participant is expected to gather a body of work and information from
the teaching sessions, assignments, their own study and reflection and from
investigative trips to be a resource for the future.
Placement: Placement will be tailored to individual availability – with a minimum of 3
hours a week.
COURSE DATES AND INFORMATION FOR ONE-YEAR SPARE TIME PROGRAMME
The Forge Europe Course will not be running from the Netherlands in January 2017. However please look out for upcoming information on a future course starting in September 2017.
WHAT WILL IT COST?
Participants would be expected to become members (or temporary members) of their Placement Church with the usual personal and financial commitment that involves.
The course cost will be confirmed at a later date.
This cost can be paid over the year in agreed installments
The course fee does not include the cost of participating in activities which may be required for, or advantageous to, involvement with an individual placement. Accommodation for the teaching weekends is not included.
